Theaterakademie August Everding

In 1993, the Free State of Bavaria founded the Bavarian Theater Academy on the initiative of August Everding with the intention of providing artistic training for a variety of theatrical professions under one roof. The Prinzregententheater in Munich became the home of this teaching and learning theater. Since the 2022/2023 season, it has been headed by Prof. Dr. Barbara Gronau. With eight courses of study (acting, musicals, opera, directing, dramaturgy, theater, film and television criticism, stage design and costume design and make-up) and three professionally equipped theaters (Prinzregententheater, Akademietheater, Akademiestudio), the Theaterakademie August Everding is the largest training center for stage professions in Germany.

The Akademietheater, which is located at the rear of the Prinzregententheater, serves as a performance venue for the Theaterakademie August Everding's directing, acting and musical productions. As an independent workshop theater, it offers space for the productions that are created in collaboration with the various courses of study
