The TOLLHAUS cultural center is one of the largest cultural institutions in Karlsruhe and an important socio-cultural center in Baden-Württemberg (almost 140,000 visitors in 2025).

With over 300 events a year, the program covers a broad spectrum: music, theater, dance, readings, cabaret, circus and socioculture. Two annual festivals form the focal points of the program and have an international reach: The ZELTIVAL music festival, which has been bringing international musicians to Karlsruhe since 1985, and the ATOLL festival for contemporary circus, which has been attracting visitors and experts from all over Europe since 2016. Equally important are formats that address social debates and enable encounters and participation.

TOLLHAUS sees itself as a place where art and society intertwine. As a stage, laboratory and meeting place, it opens up opportunities to adopt new perspectives and make solidarity a practical experience. It cooperates with schools, local initiatives and associations as well as international festivals and networks.
