Bad Bunny hat lateinamerikanische Musik nicht einfach weiterentwickelt – er hat ihr ein neues Betriebssystem verpasst und macht Spanisch zur globalen Popsprache, ohne es irgendwem recht machen zu wollen. Als klares Statement für kulturelle Identität und Selbstbewusstsein stellt er traditionelle Männlichkeitsbilder auf den Prüfstand, sagt Sexismus, Homo- und Transfeindlichkeit den Kampf an und wird so zur Ikone einer neuen Generation. Seine Musik steht für Freiheit, Vielfalt und Haltung – und das in einer Szene, die lange von Klischees lebte (und diese offenbar auch sehr mochte). Ein Künstler, der Grenzen verschiebt.
