Der Film erzählt die Geschichte der gefallenen Wrestling-Berühmtheit Nyawunyawu aus der Stadt Kisangani in der Demokratischen Republik Kongo. Er kämpft darum, ein Wrestlingturnier zum postmortalen Jubiläumeines ehemaligen Weltmeisters im Halbschwergewicht 1974 in Deutschland zu organisieren: Kelekele Lituka, genannt „Gottvater“, der Jahre vor seinem Tod gelähmt und sehbehindert war und den er liebevoll „Lourd“ nennt. CATCHER feierte beim Fespaco 2025 seine Weltpremiere, wo er den Samba Felix Ndiaye Preis für den besten Debüt-Dokumentarfilm gewann. Beim Afrika Film Festival Köln feiert der Film seine Deutschlandpremiere.

The film tells the story of fallen wrestling celebrity Nyawunyawu from the town of Kisangani in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He leads a fight, namely the organization of a wrestling tournament for the post-mortem anniversary of a former world light heavyweight champion in 1974 in Germany: Kelekele Lituka, called “Godfather”, who was paralyzed and visually impaired years before his death and whom he affectionately called “Lourd”. CATCHER celebrated its world premiere at Fespaco 2025, where it won the Samba Felix Ndiaye Award for Best Debut Documentary. The film celebrates its German premiere at the Afrika Film Festival Köln.
