Our estival trips aboard Cruise—our steamboat of queer love, lust and sterling dance music—offer hot, sweaty getaways from heteronormative expectations. But our upcoming ride is shaping up to be a very special one, powered by the joint forces of Manchester’s queer party series Meat Free, helmed by Blitz regulars Blasha & Allatt, and Berlin’s POWER crew, taking over our PLUS floor. The more, the merrier!

Our good friends Blasha & Allatt don’t just deliver groove-focussed, euphorically rugged techno—they’re also key figures behind Manchester’s Meat Free series, a defining force in the UK’s queer nightlife. For this Cruise edition, they bring a taste of Mancunian madness to the Blitz floor with a tantalising techno line-up. The Lady Machine, the seasoned Brazilian selector, and Reka Zalan, the promising Berlin upstart, are two dedicated vinyl-only DJs who navigate contemporary techno through a classicist, timeless lens—quintessential grooves that reaffirm a belief in concrete funk. Rounding out the Meat Free curation is Mister Willis, a Berlin-based, British-born DJ with a sharp focus on no-frills techno.

Meanwhile, Berlin’s POWER crew takes the reins on our PLUS floor with a promise of > HIGH VOLTAGE BODY MOVEMENT < — fuelled by luscious, ecstatic house. DJ Norma and Greta Spark spin blithe and blissed-out grooves, from jacking to drifting rhythms and sentiments. And of course, the POWER Squad themselves will show us what makes their series a sensation among Berlin’s bubbling scene.
