EDDIE - Who’s EDDIE?
Rooted in the Berlin underground scene, the three-piece navigate their way from driving, explosive punk (I Killed The President) to melancholic, expressive alternative (Friends) and gentle ballads (Name Of My Love), addressing topics such as menstruation, police violence, mental health, masculinity and lovesickness.
Their album Ambivalence is a homage to their musical role models such as Amyl and the Sniffers, The Beatles, Bad Brains or Dead Kennedys and fellow Berlin bands such as Banana of Death, Goldzilla or Riot Spears.
EDDIE find their own, idiosyncratic and catchy way. And this leads them straight from their rehearsal room in Neuruppin to large and small open-air and indoor stages with shows in Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig and Freiburg. After the first meeting of
London (guitarist), Nylar (bassist) and Ascánio (drummer), there was no doubt about the group dynamic, so that the then freshly formed band promptly agreed to their first invitation to perform.
EDDIE are not fans of half measures. The energy level of their gigs is comparable to that of Popeye after a fresh load of spinach. They are also extremely experimental and swap instruments, invite musicians to join them on stage or jam almost unnoticed like the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Jimi Hendrix Experience during their concerts. All of this is made possible by musical ability, trust and spontaneity. Friendship, fun with music and a good time with their audience are EDDIE's top priorities.
