Der Rebell trägt seiner Mutter ein herzzerreißendes Gedicht vor, einen Aufschrei gegen die Sklaverei. AIMÉ CÉSAIRE, UN HOMME UNE TERRE zeichnet das Porträt des Dichters, Politikers und Mitbegründers der Négritude-Bewegung, der in seiner Heimat Martinique verwurzelt war. In einem langen Interview mit Sarah Maldoror spricht Césaire über den Norden der Insel, seine Beziehung zur Poesie – insbesondere zu Cahier d‘un retour au pays natal (Zurück ins Land der Geburt) und La Tragédie du roi Christophe – sowie über die Frage der Entwurzelung. Er prangert auch mit Nachdruck den Kolonialstatus von Martinique an.

The rebel recites a heart-rending poem to his mother, a cry of revolt against slavery. AIMÉ CÉSAIRE, UN HOMME UNE TERRE paints a portrait of the poet, politician and one of the founders of the Négritude movement, rooted in
his native Martinique. In a long interview conducted by Sarah Maldoror, Césaire talks about the north of the island, his relationship with poetry – notably Notebook of a Return to the Native Land and The Tragedy of King Christophe – and the issue of uprooting. He also strongly denounces the colonial status of Martinique
