Yaoundé, Kamerun. Kommissar Billong ermittelt im Mordfall eines Kollegen. Der unbeugsame Mann, der fest in seinen Überzeugungen und seiner Rechtschaffenheit verhaftet ist, hat Mühe, die Ordnung auf den Straßen aufrechtzuerhalten und seinen vier Söhnen Autorität entgegenzubringen. INDOMPTABLES ist eine Adaption des Dokumentarfilms UN CRIME À ABIDJAN (1999) von Mosco Levi Boucault und zeichnet ein nuanciertes Bild eines Landes in Spannungen und eines Vaters in einer existenziellen Krise. Thomas Ngijol ist sowohl Regisseur als auch Hauptdarsteller dieses intensiven Krimis, derfür die Quinzaine des cinéastesdes Festival de Cannes 2025 ausgewählt wurde.

An unyielding man, locked in his convictions and righteousness, he struggles to maintain order in the streets and impose his authority on his four sons. Adapted from Mosco Levi Boucault’s documentary UN CRIME À ABIDJAN (1999), INDOMPTABLES paints a nuanced portrait of a country in turmoil and a father in the throes of an existential crisis. Both director and lead actor, Thomas Ngijol has created an intense thriller that was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
