In our Gathering series we invite someone to share from their work and then have a chance to meet, chat and exchange over a meal prepared by the Playground team and a drink.

In this Gathering Daniel Mariblanca will share aspects of the past, present and future of 71BODIES; a transgender inclusive dance performance company that has been based Bergen, Norway since 2016. How they use dance and art as transformative tools to express important things in life are delved into.

71BODIES, a transgender inclusive dance and performance company based in Bergen, Norway was created by Daniel Mariblanca in 2016. A core intention of the company is to work with and in particular communities where the body is at the center of the discussion. The interest of 71BODIES is centered on generating artistic expressions through the personal stories and lived experiences of people that exist beyond mainstream society. With every production of 71BODIES our intention is to create beauty from our margins and on our own terms.
