“Mountain tea” is an intimate tea experience curated from my 2025 sourcing journey through Yunnan — exploring white tea, Dianhong, and aged Pu’er from their ancestral origins.

This tea tasting is focused on Yunnan geography/terroir, Tea and culture, presented through four major teas from the Dà Yè Zhǒng 大叶种 (“Big Leaf”) variety — Yue Guang Bai, Bai Hao Yin Zheng,Golden Neddle, classic Dianhong, and Pu’er (both Sheng and Shu) — which were personally sourced this spring from different mountain regions across Yunnan. Among those regions we sourced in Pu’er, Bingdao village in Lingcan, Gaoshan Village in Yiwu, Jingmai and Fengqing.

The tea tasting will include an introduction to Gong Fu Cha (功夫茶), the traditional Chinese way of preparing and drinking tea. This method emphasizes the skill and art of brewing with precision allowing the tea’s full aroma, flavor, and energy to unfold through multiple short infusions using small teaware such as a gaiwan or Yixing clay teapot.

Each participant will create their own tea-tasting Mandala Perception Chart, using colors as the main resource or tool to explore and understand key aspects of tea such as aroma, texture, and mouthfeel — in a creative, relaxed, and enjoyable way.
