Founded by Sandra Ndachengedzwa in 2022, Ayanda Fine Art is an art gallery based in Düsseldorf, Germany with a focus on contemporary art from Africa and its Diaspora. We work with artists from diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and genres. As a cultural hub, our mission is to enrich people’s experience of art.

Our Nguni name Ayanda means ‘always increasing’. To us, the term is a statement of intent and an operational philosophy underpinning the all-embracing work of our young institution rooted in Ubuntu (being self through others). We intend to grow together with the artists we represent and those we partner and collaborate with. We are open to fields of creative prowess. We embrace existing and new ideas.  An integral component of our robust programme is an all-inclusive curatorial initiative that engages, questions, and disrupts.

Named after Frida Kahlo’s painting, The Frame - Conversations with Ayanda Fine Art is our bi-weekly podcast through which we critically engage art experts and stakeholders interested in developments around contemporary art on a diverse range of topics.

Sandra Ndachengedzwa was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, in 2008 she moved to Germany where she studied International Relations. Sandra now lives permanently between Germany and Zimbabwe.
