KISI (INITIATION, UIQ)
Nkisi produces intense, powerful sounds influenced by ancient Congolese rhythms and noises, planetary electromagnetism and experimental improvisation. The creative musician and visual artist is one of the co-founders of the now legendary platform NON Worldwide. She has recently launched both her label INITIATION and the research platform "The Secret Institute" to explore the secrets and mysteries of vibrational rhythms, ritual as a socio-political tool, invisible gestural sounds, noise tantra and trance strategies. Nkisi has performed at countless festivals across Europe, including Semibreve, Terraforma and Unsound, as well as prestigious nightclubs such as De School, The White Hotel and Inkonst. As a touring artist, she has traveled extensively and performed at festivals such as Dweller Festival in New York and MUTEK in Montreal. With a richly embedded and layered practice, Nkisi has collaborated and worked with prestigious institutions such as the Palais de Tokyo, Callie's Berlin and the Wysing Arts Centre.
