TAO-Chor Düsseldorf e.V.

The TAO Choir Düsseldorf was founded in 1991 by a small group - in a rehearsal room above the former TAO bookshop. This gave the choir its unusual name.
We are now a large mixed choir. With around 80 active singers, aged between 25 and 78. Although the male voices are also well filled, we are looking for reinforcement, especially in the tenor. We are open to new members, but we are currently only accepting male voices.

We sing a capella, but are also happy to sing with smaller or larger ensembles through to large choral works with symphony orchestras and soloists.

We are a registered association and a member of the Düsseldorf Choir Association, but have no ideological or other affiliations. We finance ourselves, the choirmaster, the sheet music, our concerts, project-related vocal training and our rehearsal rooms through membership fees, donations from individual sponsors and project-related support from various institutions such as the Choir Association and the Cultural Office of the City of Düsseldorf.
