Bäumchen Wechsel Dich: One night, one city, one ticket
Dortmund is not a city that sleeps at midnight. And once a year it proves this particularly impressively: with "Bäumchen Wechsel Dich", the city's largest cross-genre indoor festival.
The concept is as simple as it is convincing: One ticket. One night. Over 25 clubs, bars and event locations that come together for a few hours to form a city-wide festival. No admission stress, no decision paralysis at the door - once you're in, you're in everywhere.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, it starts at 7 pm and ends at 6 am. Locations such as the FZW, SNRS, Stollen 134, Kraftstoff, Dortmunder U and many more will be taking part - right across the city.
Touring is the keyword
What distinguishes "Bäumchen Wechsel Dich" from a normal club night is the deliberate touring. The night doesn't belong to a single location, but to the whole city. Those in the mood for techno move on. If you prefer hip-hop or indie, you'll find that too. The music program is deliberately broad - from electronic music, hip-hop and rock to indie, pop and all-time hits. Local and regional DJs, artist crews and collectives from NRW present what is currently moving the region's night culture.
A clever detail: some bars are converted into mini-clubs for the night with a DJ booth and dance floor. This lowers the inhibition threshold for trying out new places - and makes the night more unpredictable. In a good way.
The Red Bull Bass Bus
Probably the craziest highlight of the evening is the Red Bull Bass Bus. This is no ordinary shuttle, but a moving club: a powerful sound and lighting system, a professional DJ booth and a dance floor on four wheels. If you're lucky enough to get on this bus instead of the regular shuttle, you'll celebrate the journey between the venues as much as the venues themselves. The so-called "fastest club in Dortmund" makes the journey part of the night - and that's actually a pretty good idea.
More than clubbing: Blend.bazaar at BLENDHAUS
If you want to take things a little easier in the evening, you should drop by the BLENDHAUS early. The "Blend.bazar - subculture is high culture" is a design and creative market where artists from the region present individual workshops, products and exhibitions. Accompanied by newcomer artists on the DJ booth, an atmosphere is created here that brings together market, music and scene culture. A reminder that night culture is more than just dancing.
How much does the night cost?
If you just want to party and go for a ride, the Club Tour ticket costs €22.50. If you want to fully enjoy the night, choose the Big Tree XXL ticket for €26.50 - including an exclusive double drink special in the participating bars (two drinks for the price of one per bar). All tickets must be exchanged for a festival wristband at one of the central cash desks before the first location visit.
