Internationales Trickfilm-Festival Stuttgart

PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

From May 5 to 10, Stuttgart will once again be a hotspot for animation: at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film (ITFS), you can expect extraordinary films from all over the world, new perspectives and lots of festival feeling - in the cinemas, open air and in the heart of the city.

Look forward to exciting competitions, curated film programs, workshops, talks & Q&As, games and creative activities to take part in. Whether you're a film fan, gamer or simply curious - there's a lot to discover here.

The competitions show the best current animated films and bring them to the big screen. Every year, the ITFS proves anew that animation is far more than just children's entertainment: the International Competition features 28 carefully selected short films that surprise, move and stay in the mind. Many of them are rarely seen - and here you have the chance not only to experience them in the cinema, but also to meet the filmmakers in person and talk to them.

Our highlights for you: Adult Swim is back this year with a preview of the 9th season of Rick and Morty and HBO Max is showing the German premiere of the 2nd season of Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake.
Also: look forward to German animated series in the Special German Adult Animation Series, the premiere of The Boy at the Edge of the World, student short films in One Day at a Time and the feature film in the AniMovie Competition Bouchra.
