The concert by Shogo Yoshii & Ensemble "Earth Voice" comes to Düsseldorf on May 21, 2026.

The performance will take place at 7:30 pm in the Capitol Theater - Club and offers a musical experience that combines Japanese tradition with contemporary sounds.

A musical journey between Japanese tradition and global sounds

Renowned Japanese composer, artist and artistic director Shogo Yoshii presents a unique show in Düsseldorf that connects cultures through music. With a solid background in traditional Japanese music and an international career - including his time as a former member of the renowned ensemble KODÕ - Yoshii creates a stage performance that combines the ancient with the modern.

"Earth Voice" is a concept rooted in the essence of Japanese culture. The music stems from island traditions and reflects an artistic philosophy based on simplicity and the optimal use of limited natural resources - a principle that can also be found in Zen and Japanese cuisine.

At the center of the performance are traditional instruments such as the taiko drums, the shinobue flute and the kokyū, played by Yoshii himself. These are complemented by distinctive sounds such as the amami sanshin, the rokushin and the amami harp, creating a rich and immersive sound atmosphere.

In addition, two young drummers accompany the performance, bringing energy, precision and expressive depth. Their playing combines strength and subtlety and is reminiscent of traditional Japanese festivals that have long served as a connection between people and nature.

吉井盛悟 Ensemble 「Earth Voice」開催

デュッセルドルフにお住まいの皆様へ、特別な音楽の夜のお知らせです。

元「鼓童」の中心メンバーとして世界を熱狂させ、これまで世界40ヵ国をめぐり現在はマルチ奏者・作曲家として活動する吉井盛悟氏。

彼と奄美大島の唄者、平田まりなを軸にしたアンサンブル「Earth Voice」の公演が、ここデュッセルドルフで開催されます！

篠笛、和太鼓、胡弓......。日本の伝統楽器を用いながらも、その音楽はジャンルの枠を超えます。

平田まりなは奄美在住の正真正銘の島唄の唄者、祖母から受け継いだ島唄継ぎ、多くの賞を受賞してきました。

二人のアンサンブルは新しくも懐かしい響き、忘れていた日本の原初的な音、まさに「地球の声（Earth Voice）」のように深く、力強く響き渡ります。

今回は更に気鋭の若手太鼓奏者、佐野健士龍、川野稜太の二者を加え、素朴で豊かな島国日本の深い精神性と現代の感性が融合した唯一無二の音色が染み入ります。
