The great and nationwide success of the first decade of the Mannheim Comedy Cup confirms that the decision to launch this competition over a decade ago and to award the "laughing water tower" for newcomers and professionals in the scene was the right one! With a high-caliber starter field that goes from casting and coaching to the final, the Mannheim Comedy Cup is already a fixed date in many people's calendars.

Here's to the twelve!

This year the dozen will be completed. The 12th Mannheim Comedy Cup will take place on May 2nd. Once again this year, four established comedians will battle it out and try to win over the audience. Six newcomers will compete for the jury prize. Last year's winner will also have his platform on May 2nd, so that a total of 11 comedians will make the evening an intense experience!

Over a decade ago, the team around Roland Junghans, Jens Wienand and Gregor Spachmann set out to improve the conditions for up-and-coming talent: low-threshold application opportunities, coaching and intensive work on the program, dress rehearsals on the small casino stage at BOOM - that's the successful program. After 12 years, the figures speak for themselves: out of 1000 applicants, 400 newcomers were invited to the auditions. But the Mannheim Comedy Cup is not only a magnet for the comedians. The audience also flocks to the shows. For example, 10,000 guests have already attended the BOOM and the final.

At the final on 2 May, 6 newcomers will compete for the jury's prize, and 4 national comedians will also vie for the audience's favor.

Christin Jugsch - Funny Bones and creative chaos
From supposed family prank to comedy stage - Christin Jugsch brings real life to the stage
Whether nephew, mother or lifeguard - all everyday and often bizarre encounters are processed and presented down to the smallest detail in Christin Jugsch's comedy. Her absolute "funny bones", which conjure up images in the audience's minds as if they had been there themselves, are Christin's trademark. Whether it's about tax, dating or self-discovery - the permanent construction sites of her life are always worth a story.
Her family initially hoped that Christin would tell them that this artist thing was all just part of the TV show "Versteckte Kamera". But no, she stuck to it. Thanks to her likeable and energetic manner, Christin is now an integral part of the comedy scene on stages across the country. She has already been a guest on all of Germany's major comedy shows: Comedy Clash on ARD, Ladies Night on WDR, NightWash, Standup 3000 on Comedy Central, Quatsch Comedy Club and Chaos Comedy Club on ZDF.

From spring 2026, Christin Jugsch will be touring Germany with her solo program "Plan A wird durchzogen!".
In it, she tells with her usual wit and a lot of self-irony about her journey from a village child in Lower Saxony to a self-proclaimed city kid - and about the normal madness between tax, dating and self-discovery. Christin Jugsch is one of the most exciting new discoveries of recent years: extremely likeable, courageous, a storyteller - and a real funny bone.

Robert Alan "Pervekt" (stand-up & music comedy)
Writing the press release for his new program yourself is a bit like masturbating in front of a mirror - rarely funny. Nevertheless, it has to be done. So it's not the masturbating in front of the mirror, but the writing of the press release. My new program is called "Pervekt" because my life is pervekt.
On good days, I stand in front of the cash machine. On bad days I stand in front of the deposit machine. At the end of the day, I come out with zero. At least that's what I tell the tax office.
I was born in 1986 in the former GDR. Naked and without money. But that's the most dangerous state to be in. And the funniest. Today, 38 years later, I find myself in that state again. My life is perfect.

björn von morgenstern
ABOUT BJÖRN:
Björn von Morgenstern is currently the most sought-after newcomer on the German comedy scene. He is a stand-up and acted in theater from the age of 15-18. In 2013, he took 1st place in the "Sprücheklopfer" category at the Abitur (in the double year). It was clear from that moment on that he would go on stage with his stories at some point and that time has now come. Björn talks about his life and misunderstandings he has experienced. He likes to lead the audience in the wrong direction, only to take a completely different turn in the end. He is best known for his smug grin - and by the end it feels like we've all been friends for a long time.
Björn is a finalist of the NightWash Talent Award 2024, winner of the Cologne ComedyClash 2025 and, in addition to appearances in the Downstairs Comedy Club, at NightWash or the Quatsch Comedy Club, has already been able to gain a lot of experience in just a few months with over 250 appearances on mixshow stages, where he regularly delights the audience. Since August 2025, Björn von Morgenstern has been presenting his first own open mic as host of the show "BOM - BEST OPEN MIC" every Monday at the popular Comedy Club Düsseldorf. Björn von Morgenstern started with 2,987 followers at the beginning of 2025. A few of his videos went viral on Björn's Instagram channel, which meant he gained 30,000 followers virtually overnight and built up a new loyal community. He now has over 150,000 followers. Björn also follows a vegan diet and eats lots of colorful plants.
KREISVERKEHRFEST - SOLO PROGRAM:
In his first solo program, Björn von Morgenstern talks about youth in the village - between Kreisverkehrfest and other creative events. He also talks about how crazy the big wide world is when you get to know most things much later than everyone else. So it's no wonder that he also interpreted his time in the German army rather creatively. It's rarely serious, but always absurd & funny. In October 2026, he will be the first newcomer to play his solo show in Germany's largest arena, the LANXESS arena Cologne.

Timur Turga - Blind Date
Timur has been seeing the world with different eyes for several years.
Almost blind and armed with a cane, he talks humorously about his everyday encounters. He is often put on the wrong train by "helpful" people or ends up in the wrong toilet. What his eyes can no longer grasp, his imagination replaces with images in his head, which he describes on stage and uses to embellish his anecdotes.
Timur captivates every member of the audience when he tells in an impressive and humorous way what has changed in his life since his eye disease: Nothing at all, really - except jogging.
He talks about everyday things with a lot of irony: he rebuilds his annoying alarm clock, saves the panda bears from extinction and talks about his former job as a childcare worker.
Timur Turga tells the audience his point of view in a very charming way, opening everyone's eyes. Sympathetically and confidently, he explains how it can happen to lose a large part of your eyesight, but not your sense of humor.
