We meet a group of people in search of a home. Balancing on unsteady ground, they risk sinking and being left behind.
A group moves through a desolate landscape of rocky slopes and an undulating, elastic ground. This springy ground partly cushions their falls, but deforms under their steps and makes every movement more difficult. Yet time and again, they also open up moments of weightlessness in which the acrobats almost begin to fly. In this isolated landscape, other laws of nature seem to apply, resulting in a fascinating language of movement: between floating lightness, wavering balance and the search for stability.
With A STORY OF DISPLACEMENT, Panama Pictures presents a physical story about migration. The language of dance and circus shows both the strength and the vulnerability of the searching human being. The music, including a reinterpretation of contemporary techno music, was specially composed by Strijbos and Van Rijswijk as well as Davide Bellotta and will be performed live. Once again, the Dutch company is presenting its new piece as a German premiere. A must for all circus and LOFFT fans!
Without language.
