Presentation by Sandra Butscheike and Steffen Mender

In their live reportage, Sandra Butscheike and Steffen Mender talk about the biggest adventure of their lives so far. For over six months, the photographers and filmmakers cycled from Bolivia to the most beautiful end of the world, Tierra del Fuego.

Their journey starts in Sucre. From here they head south to Tupiza. They cross the Salar de Uyuni and the Bolivian highlands. Extreme conditions demand everything from the couple in this inhospitable region. Scorching heat, ice-cold nights in tents at altitudes of up to 4,900 meters, strong storms, extreme corrugated iron tracks, loose gravel and deep sand push the cyclists to their limits. However, the spectacular landscapes and the exceptional hospitality and warmth of the Bolivians make up for all the exertions.

From the Atacama Desert, the tour continues to Patagonia. Through various national parks, the lake regions and along the famous Carretera Austral, the two of them cycle further and further south.
Impressive forests, majestic mountains, waterfalls, volcanoes, rushing rivers, glistening lakes and the endless expanses of the pampas accompany their journey to Tierra del Fuego.

After 5,000 kilometers and over 60,000 meters in altitude, the adventurers reach the destination of their dreams, Ushuaia.
Now it's time to pack up the bikes and lace up the hiking boots. In Los Glaciares National Park, the nature lovers visit the famous Perito Moreno Glacier and marvel at the spectacular autumn colors around Fitz Roy, Cerro Torre and Co. on various hikes.

The globetrotters spent 7 months on the road in Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. Every single day was worth all the effort and exertion!
In their live reportage, the filmmakers provide insights into breathtaking landscapes, foreign cultures and their everyday life as cyclists. They talk about unique encounters with people and animals, special hospitality, challenges, hardships, moments of happiness, adventure and freedom.
