ACCESS TO DANCE: Ingrid Berger Myhre "Terms & Conditions"

"Terms & Conditions" is a solo that juggles with language - between literal and metaphorical meaning, rhymes, puns and misunderstandings. Where does meaning arise and who reveals it?

Based on etymology, the study of the origin of words, Ingrid Berger Myhre explores the interweaving of dance and language. "A word alone doesn't say much. It only takes on meaning when it is used."

In her current work in progress, the Norwegian choreographer wittily explores the silent contract between language and movement: How does the body become a mediator of language? When do gestures shift meanings - or contradict them?

The showing will be followed by a discussion with the artist.
