AGATHA IS DEAD! - Concrete-Tour (Post-Punk)

Berlin post-punk newcomers Agatha Is Dead! are releasing their new single "Courtroom Drama" on March 11 - just in time for their first shows in the United States, where the band will be performing at SXSW. Alongside the single, the band are also announcing their debut album "Concrete", which is due for release in September 2026.

"Courtroom Drama" unfolds as an internal court case that threatens to suffocate in its own logic. The song traces the slow collapse that occurs when you heap all responsibility on yourself - trapped in merciless self-questioning until perspective shatters and certainty dissolves. Guilt becomes instinctive rather than earned, confession becomes a coping mechanism rather than truth. Shaped by inherited judgments and internalized authority, the track exists in a space where dissenting voices are silenced and the process is never postponed. Somber yet hauntingly intimate, the song captures the exhaustion that comes from constant self-surveillance and questions what is left of identity when judgment and self-imposed moral perfectionism take the place of understanding.

The band will announce their tour shortly; tickets for their biggest headline concert to date on February 25, 2027 at SO36 Berlin are already available.

Formed during the lockdown winter of 2021, Agatha Is Dead! initially emerged as a post-punk experiment between longtime friends Lilly and Noah, who had been making music together during their school days. Influenced by Joy Division, The Cure, Molchat Doma and Fontaines D.C., their sound is characterized by urgency, tension and atmosphere. The addition of drummer Joey Ramone Hansen - who brings a dose of grunge and pop-punk bite - and Arthur on bass completed the line-up. After their first shows in 2022, the band quickly established themselves in the Berlin underground scene.

In 2025, Agatha Is Dead! signed to Duchess Box Records and released their EP "order" before selling out their first headlining tour - including a 500 show at Lido Berlin that sold out four months in advance. With "Courtroom Drama", the band further sharpens their claustrophobic intensity and marks a decisive step towards one of Berlin's most impressive new post-punk statements.
