Teenage Marija spends the summer with her grandmother in an industrial area in the Lithuanian hinterland. She is quickly bullied because of her walking difficulties and gets into a fight with Kristina, a girl of the same age who - like many other girls in this remote area - attends a modeling school. Marija soon joins the cult-like institution. With the prospect of a career in the fashion industry, feelings of self-hatred are normalized here and eating disorders are the order of the day. As an intimate friendship develops between Marija and Kristina, the girls fall into an ever-accelerating spiral in which they abuse their bodies in extreme ways...
