AL MOSTA'MERA is based on a true story and is about two brothers, 23-year-old troublemaker Hossam and 12-year-old Maro, who live in a marginalized community in Alexandria. After their father is killed in a work accident at a factory, they are hired by the same factory as "compensation" for their loss instead of taking legal action. As they find their feet in their new jobs, they begin to wonder whether their father's death was really an accident and how they should settle the matter. This social thriller is Mohamed Rashad's feature film debut and celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale 2025.
