All Good Undones: MELLER

With "klein sein", MELLER opens a new chapter: more vulnerable, warmer, closer - and yet edgy and unbroken. Where her earlier songs were mainly dark, hard and defensive, MELLER opens up to the softer parts on her upcoming EP. She proves that fragility and strength are not opposites, but reinforce each other.

The title track "klein sein" (being small) condenses this feeling: the uncertain stumbling into adulthood, the desire to be as light as dust and to let go of mistakes, but also the rebellion against a world that demands too much. In her new tracks, MELLER tells of interpersonal ruptures and connections, lost friendships, missed futures and the attempt to find peace in the midst of chaos. These songs are both embrace and resistance - comforting and honest, without kitsch, always with a middle finger in the air.

And yet MELLER remains true to herself: her lyrics are still uncompromisingly direct, telling of pain and recovery, of panic and aftercare. Her sound combines fragile piano moments with brute beats, her deep spoken vocals cut through the darkness and turn her music into a ride through the city at night - urban, unembellished, full of urgency.

Growing up in Hamburg and influenced by Berlin, MELLER has used music as a survival strategy since her childhood. She immersed herself in the creative scene at an early age, writing lyrics and poems, playing upright piano and searching for her own sound in sessions. Today, with "klein sein", she creates a progressive indie pop sound that lives contrasts: warmth and coldness, melancholy and power, vulnerability and fighting spirit.

MELLER shows that growing up doesn't mean getting rid of heaviness, but living with it - and finding lightness in it.
