From the Black Sea coast to the Mediterranean, from Istanbul to the Iranian border - Anatolia is a special region where different cultures have always lived side by side. Their stories resound in different languages: Aramaic, Armenian, Greek, Kurdish, Lazic, Sephardic, Turkish, Zazaic and many more. And what cannot be said, but is impossible to remain silent about, is expressed through music. In her song recital "Âşıklar - Die Liebenden", Nihan Devecioğlu sang about the lives of four women who embarked on a life-changing journey from Turkey to Germany in the 1960s. Now, together with ensemble players, she explores the diversity of Anatolia, following in the footsteps of female experiences that live on in music.
