Music director Stefan Klingele fulfills a long-cherished wish: to conduct a big band for once. The Bremen Philharmonic Orchestra and the vocal ensemble join in and present a full sound, fulmination, brilliance and a rhythm that you can't help but follow. They poach at the top of their voices in unfamiliar waters and ensure a good mood and swing in the bones with songs by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Glenn Miller and Duke Ellington. The music is in the foreground, but this nostalgic revue is also a feast for the eyes: costume changes, glitter, glitter and sparkling opulence. The program is hosted by the entertainer and our "Dolly" Gayle Tufts, who has become a Bremen audience favourite thanks to her rebellious charm and unmistakable denglish. It's showtime!
