"The Devil's Door" by "And Also the Trees", one of the original "post-punk" bands, presents an album that works like a silent storm.

Sometimes cinematic, sometimes poetic and intense, with an undercurrent of dark psychedelia.

It completes a trilogy of works created by the current line-up: "The Bone Carver", "Mother-of-pearl Moon" and now "The devil's door".

Here you will find the poetic lyrics typical of "And also the trees", orchestral guitar sounds and songs influenced by soundtracks, inspired by newsreels, oil paintings and folklore. But this work also features some surprising instrumentation - including guest violinist Catherine Graindorge - that steer the album into a world where John Barry meets Béla Bartók.

And also the trees (AATT) formed during the original post-punk era in rural Worcestershire, an environment that has been a constant inspiration for a group whose music has often explored both the dark side and the beauty of the British countryside. They are known for their captivating live performances, a unique style of mandolin-style electric guitar, evocative lyrics and dark jazz rhythms - not to mention a creative independence that has been steadfastly maintained for over four decades.

Founded by singer Simon Jones and his brother Justin, a guitarist, AATT have remained a constant presence in the post-punk and alternative rock scene worldwide. They have released sixteen studio albums.
