ANDY - Queer Communities Across Time

In the organizer's words:

ANDY is a lecture at university, a teenager's speech at school, interrupted and enriched by drag performances, karaoke interludes, anecdotes and dance numbers.
Andy Warhol lived openly gay in a time before Stonewall, before LGBTQIA+ rights, and despite this, or perhaps because of it, he was already known and celebrated worldwide during his lifetime. The gay art icon is just the starting point of a journey through queer history and queer life.

We talk, listen to, party and have deeptalks with Candy Darling, Jackie Curtis, Hollywoodlawn, Edie Sedgwick, Ocean X, Roy Dick and others. The audience is invited to think and feel along, ask questions and communicate with the present, past and future of queer community.

Especially in times of rising queer hostility (and the mistaken belief by some that trans identities are a new phenomenon), it is important for us to create these connections to history, to share them with the community, to keep them alive and to honor them.
