Anne Brorhilker: »Cum/Ex, Milliarden und Moral«

The figures vary. One thing is certain: economic and financial crime costs the state hundreds of billions of euros - every year. Tax evasion alone causes a total loss of around 100 billion euros per year. On top of this, Finanzwende e. V. estimates that the same amount is laundered in Germany - a country that likes to talk about social parasites. We join in, but with Anne Brorhilker, a member of the board of Finanzwende e. V. since June 2024. The long-standing senior public prosecutor in Cologne became known as the Cum/Ex chief investigator. "You hang the small ones, you let the big ones go" - the fact that what sounds like a regular's table is unfortunately all too true not only led Brorhilker to join an NGO, but also to write a book: Cum/Ex, Billions and Morals. She explains to Salon host Joachim Otte why the fight againstwhite-collar crime isworthwhile.
