Aquatinta - Auf Goyas Spuren

In the organizer's words:

The Museum der bildenden Künste Leipzig and the Museum für Druckkunst Leipzig are offering a three-day cooperative course providing an art-historical and artistic introduction to the aquatint printing technique. The starting point is the graphic work of the Spanish artist Francisco de Goya, which can be seen in the MdbK exhibition "Graphics in Focus".

On the first day of the course, the curator of the exhibition, Dr. Jeannette Stoschek, will guide us through the exhibition, after which we will have the unique opportunity to view historical works in the aquatint technique under the thread counter together with her in the MdbK studio and to explore the first technical processes.

Over the next two days, participants will have time to realize their own ideas in intaglio printing at the Museum für Druckkunst. Following Goya's working method, they will first create a line etching, which will then serve as the basis for the surface-forming aquatint.
