Much like Icelandic culture itself, Árstíðir's music moves between history and modernity, combining ancient Icelandic cultural heritage with contemporary songwriting and arrangements. Known for their distinctive vocal harmonies, use of string instruments and intense live performances, Árstíðir's concerts alternate between intimate a cappella moments and powerful, expansive soundscapes. Their music is particularly popular with lovers of Nordic folk music, but also attracts audiences from the classical and even the metal scene. Since their international breakthrough in 2010 - accompanied by a viral performance of an Icelandic hymn from the 13th century - Árstíðir have been touring worldwide and have built up a loyal fan base.

Árstíðir's annual Christmas concert is a tradition that dates back to 2008, the same year the band was formed. On the darkest days of December, the group steps away from their normal repertoire for one special evening. With a delightful mix of their wintriest songs and traditional Icelandic and Nordic Christmas chorales arranged especially for the occasion, they evoke the spirit of winter and cozy holiday cheer.
