Ausstellung: "Der Mensch dahinter"

The Initiative for Respect and Tolerance wants to make visible the experiences of emergency services personnel in their day-to-day work. To this end, they spoke to more than 150 emergency services personnel in 40 cities across Germany.

The exhibition shows photos and biographies of uniformed personnel, starting with the municipal public order service, the fire department, the rescue service and customs. The focus is on dangerous everyday situations in which the emergency services experience hostility. The portraits highlight the people underneath the uniform and illustrate both the personal and human aspects of the work, which includes both the difficult and the beautiful experiences.

This spotlight on the people in uniform is an invitation to restore trust, to educate and sensitize through personal anecdotes in order to restore respect and gratitude among the population.

The exhibition can be viewed during the opening hours of the Humboldt Library: Mon - Fri: 11 am - 7 pm & Sat: 11 am - 4 pm
