Band of Friends

In the organizer's words:

In 2012, Gerry McAvoy founded Band of Friends after rediscovering a vinyl collection he thought he had lost. He was revisiting his twenty-year collaboration with Rory Gallagher while listening to their records together when he decided to go on tour with his friend Ted McKenna. Ted passed away in 2019, and since then the band has performed with a varied line-up.
On the next tour, drummer Brendan Oneill will also rejoin the band. From 1981 to 1991, he worked successfully with Rory on the albums Jinx / Defender / Fresh evidence. He toured the world with Rory for ten years and played a decisive role in shaping his sound.
