Beehoover
When Ingmar and Claus-Peter founded the band in 2001, they initially had a classic line-up with bass, guitar and drums in mind. After some time, however, they decided against the initial idea and only recorded songs with bass and drums. The band's roots lie in the genres of krautrock, doom, stoner, psychedelic, pro, noise and a little jazz. Their music can be understood as rhythm-driven sludge metal. At their gigs, they make for open mouths and ringing ears. Repetitive riffs roll through the hall and are transformed into monoliths of sound weighing tons by malming drums, which crash down on the listener and wash away everything that is not nailed down. It's hard to believe that there are only two musicians at work here. The band is highly praised in the scene for their intense concerts. Just last week, a guest from Chemnitz told me about their live qualities. His eyes were shining. Maybe we'll see him again in April, when Beehoover will completely tear it up at Subterrain. We can hardly wait!
Conclusion: A real drum & bass feast for fans of PRIMUS, NOMEANSNO, HELMET, RATM, CROWBAR, TOOL, DIO, Om, Sunn0))) or IRON MAIDEN.

With influences from doom, sludge and stoner rock, Basalt have found their own niche - more authentic than pop, more accessible than the dark extremes and yet heavier than the familiar sounds of the scene.
Their songs are varied, but always honest and raw. The lyrics consist of deep personal emotions, self-criticism and pure vibes. They are not "true" to genres, but only to themselves and their conscience.
At their concerts, they take the audience on an emotional journey - from "brain empty no thoughts, just vibes" to world-weariness and self-reflection. With slow, droning guitars, they transport the crowd to other spheres - and back again.
Basalt create a space in which real life has no access and only its absurdity is viewed from afar through binoculars.
