Baukurs Lambe-Lambe-Theater

In the organizer's words:

Theater for one spectator, or Lambe-Lambe theater, originated in Brazil over 30 years ago. A scene of up to five minutes in length is performed with figures or objects in a small box for a single spectator.

The aim of the construction course is to introduce the idea of Lambe-Lambe theater. A concept for the design of your own box will be developed and implemented using simple means. Participants will also gain an insight into lighting options, effects and text recording programs. Finally, the course deals with presentation options and interaction with the audience. The basic principle of Lambe-Lambe theater will be conveyed and the creativity and joy of immersing oneself further in this fascinating form of theater will be awakened.

The participants work with a ready-made box and simply built or ready-made figures (e.g. toy figures). The storyboard is created from a story brought along or based on the figures.

Before the start of the course, each participant will receive a detailed list of materials. In preparation for the construction course, it is worth collecting ideas for the Lambe-Lambe theater. At the end of the course, the boxes are presented with live text. The further design can be continued at home.

The course takes place over two days. Beforehand, there will be an introductory talk with important information on preparing for the course via Zoom. Participation in the preliminary meeting is essential.

Two-day workshop at the Luise Cultural Center:
Saturday, May 9, 2026, 9:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
