About the artists:

Anna McCargow is a British pianist who lives in Germany. She has been playing the piano since the age of five and received a comprehensive musical education. Masterclasses have taken her to the Mozarteum Summer Academy Salzburg (2012-2019) and since 2016 to the University of Music Brescia with Prof. Andreas Frölich, Dmitri Alexeev and Dina Yoffe. She has been studying at the Cologne University of Music and Dance since 2021.

She performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, including with orchestras in Germany, Italy and the UK, and has worked with conductors such as Uri Segal and Tim Redmond. Her repertoire includes piano concertos by Mozart, Beethoven, Grieg and Schumann.

She was a participant in the chamber music festival Musica Mundi (2021/22) and founded a chamber music section at the "Clavis" festival in Füssen in 2024/25. Since 2023 she has been sponsored by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Köln e.V.

Anna McCargow has won numerous prizes at international competitions, including first prizes in Málaga (2019), Astana (2023), Verona (2024), Ariano Irpino (2024) and Stockport (2025).

Sophia Kummer (*2001, Arnsberg) received her first cello lessons at the age of five and studied cello with Prof. Hans-Christian Schweiker at the Cologne University of Music and Dance (Aachen location), where she has been pursuing her master's degree since 2026.

She received artistic inspiration in master classes with Wenn-Sinn Yang, Troels Svane and Maria Kliegel, among others, as well as at international chamber music academies. In parallel to her instrumental training, Sophia Kummer is intensively dedicated to singing: since the summer semester of 2023, she has also been studying for a Bachelor of Music (artistic training) in singing and is a member of the National Youth Choir and the extra choir of Theater Aachen.

Her focus is on chamber music; she is a prizewinner of the "Kammer?Musik!" competition of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. She has been sponsored by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Köln e.V. since 2023 and is a scholarship holder of the Cusanuswerk.
