A sustainable working world needs new places, new communication, new collaboration, new (self-)leadership and new goals. But what does this mean in practice? The Big & Growing New Work Festival addresses this question with a unique format for networking the New Work scene in Germany.

The Big & Growing New Work Festival sees itself as a cross-generational and cross-industry interactive platform and has been held annually at several locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since 2019. All stakeholders in the field of New Work are brought together at the festival to exchange ideas about the future of work in a decentralized, inclusive and adaptive approach. People who implement New Work for their customers, in their companies, associations or politics or who are simply interested in a sustainable working world come together in a kind of open space think tank - with the aim of thinking, discussing, trying out and learning together.

From I to We - Shaping the future of work in challenging times

The Big & Growing New Work Festival Stuttgart 2025 invites you to rethink the future of work. Under the motto "From Me to We", this year's festival is all about impulses and experiences that provide orientation both individually and collectively and open up concrete approaches for a more humane and sustainable working world.

DAY 1:

On the first day of the festival, we will focus on the individual:
with the help of impulses, workshops and dialog formats, we create the basis for personal growth.

We talk about a topic that often remains hidden: Vulnerability.
Instead of weakness, it is the basis for authenticity, connectedness and resilient teams - and therefore a genuine leadership competence.

We look at individual strengths: How can talents be recognized, how can we deal constructively with weaknesses and shape collaboration in a strength-oriented way?

We discuss how learning and training formats can have a lasting effect instead of fizzling out.

The transfer of competitive sport to the world of work will also be exciting: small exercises will show how breathing, posture and body awareness strengthen focus, resilience and team dynamics.

Using findings from neuroscience, we will delve deeper into the question of how attitude, empathy and appreciation influence motivation.

In the context of self-leadership, we will reflect on our inner compass and learn how to remain capable of acting despite complexity and pressure.

Finally, we will enter into dialog in the panel on the topic of courage: Why it is so crucial right now - and how we can live it, even when uncertainty is high.

The result is a day full of impulses that appeal to the head, heart and body - and show that sustainability starts with the individual.

DAY 2:

On the second day, we broaden our view of the "we":
The focus is on how we as teams and organizations can strengthen collaboration and create structures that are effective and realistic to implement, even in challenging times.

We will learn how people in grassroots initiatives can take responsibility, change culture and live positive leadership independently of hierarchy.

This is followed by leadership in the midfield. Instead of abstract role models, we will see how middle managers can balance people and results orientation by adopting a "game management" approach.

We use board games as a tool to experience new forms of connection and collaboration and discover unfamiliar perspectives.

We learn how work and life can be in harmony when people know their purpose and systems allow flexibility.

We will address the topic of culture and talk about how organizations can create spaces in which humanity is not a "nice to have", but the basis for performance and sustainability.

At the end of the two days, we will reflect on the two event days together with Liberating Structures: lightweight, highly effective methods that make all voices heard and enable concrete next steps.

Practical examples, interactive sessions and open dialogues provide inspiration - and concrete tools that can be used immediately in companies.
