BLACK CINEMA: "SCHWARZ SEHEN – Kurzfilmnacht"

The short film night SCHWARZ SEHEN invites you on a journey through time to explore the vastness of Black theory, imagination and visions. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Black History Month, the almost tenth anniversary of the Leipzig edition and the third edition of BLACK CINEMA, the program presents an archive of Black stories.

We are showing the films in the various original languages with English or German subtitles.

Film series on the occasion of Black History Month 2026. For the third year in a row, the Ost-Passage Theater invites Black cultural practitioners to curate their own film program. Over four evenings, the focus will be on the diversity and stories of Black film. Together, viewers are invited to discover Black cinema or find themselves in it.

ATTENTION: The events for Black History Month may exclude: colonial reproduction, cultural appropriation, racism, sexism, trans hostility, queer hostility or other forms of discrimination. More information on this in the awareness concept.
