Reading with Brigitte Lunguieki Malungo and Elli Mariyama Manneh

Words can heal, strengthen and connect. This reading focuses on the voices of Black women who use creative writing to make their experiences, dreams and perspectives visible.

With their books, Brigitte Lunguieki Malungo and Elli Mariyama Manneh want to provide an insight into the realities of life for Black women in Germany. In their books "Meine Haut packt aus" and "Outspoken", they share stories of resistance and healing, identity and community as well as topics that move and accompany Black women in their everyday lives.

It's about celebrating Black womanhood, self-empowerment through words and the magic that happens when Black women write their own narratives - loud, strong and confident.

The reading will be moderated by AfroKids Germany founder and author Ndey Bassine Jammeh-Siegel.
