Talk on the exhibition Ode to Eris by Roxana Rios for sighted and non-sighted people with Alem Kolbus (sighted) and Sebastian Schulze (blind).

In the series Ode to Eris, commissioned by the MdbK, Roxana Rios (*1994 Hanover) explores selected works from the permanent exhibition in the form of photographic-performative re-imaginings. Rios' artistic practice is characterized by a critical examination of historically evolved narratives and, in particular, the connections between image and knowledge production - in other words, ultimately the question of how certain pictorial patterns in portraiture, such as gender stereotypes, have been perpetuated and consolidated to this day. Roxana Rios sees the body as a "construct, material and representative within social orders".
