Body of Truth - Evelyn Schels

Four extraordinary female artists - four radical and very different ways in which they make their bodies the tools of their art. In the film BODY OF TRUTH, Evelyn Schels portrays Marina Abramović, Sigalit Landau, Shirin Neshat and Katharina Sieverding. They provocatively and ruthlessly process their bio-graphic injuries and reflect on revolution, war and political powerlessness.

The film tells the story of four women who free themselves from the constraints of their history and create unique works of art along the way. By asking precise questions, BODY OF TRUTH opens up a new perspective on the political power of the body - in art as well as in society.
