Gunnar Volkmann, architect and author, as well as board member of the GfZK Sponsors' Association, presents the book Taxi nach Leipzig, die Stadt als Spielfeld at the GfZK together with photographer Christian Rothe, current winner of the Schönste Deutsche Bücher award.

Leipzig under the microscope as an organism, in a present that is usually measured selectively. An architect and a photographer in the midst of global tensions, between sketch paper and AI, black and white film and pixels, adaptation and fading out. This photo essay thinks of urban mutation as a game - speculative, grotesque, essayistic. In twelve fragments, text and image measure the rules, roles and cracks of a society under reconstruction, in montages that are always also de-montages. Who is playing the game here, what options do we have after the crisis - and what is actually at stake?
