Calmus Ensemble – Weihnacht a cappella

In the organizer's words:

Once again, we, the Calmus Ensemble, invite you to our Advent concert in the Pauluskirche Halle/Saale. This year, the evening has a special motto: inclusion. Together with the University Medical Center Halle, we have developed an audibly accessible concert concept that enables all visitors to enjoy an intense live experience.
As usual, we present five-part vocal music from five centuries - from Gregorian chant to pop, traditional Christmas music and sometimes surprisingly different.
On stage with us is the deaf performance artist Inna Shparber from Berlin. She combines our music with sign language and visual poetry to create a form of expression in which emotion, rhythm and movement can be experienced in a new way. She is supported by sign language interpreters who make the spoken word visible.
We want to create cultural participation - for people with different hearing requirements. At the same time, we invite you to get to know Deaf Performance, an art form that may still be new to many.
Look forward to unusual perspectives, space for new encounters and a feeling of togetherness.
