𝐀𝐤'𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐥 𝐢𝐦 𝐇𝐮̈𝐡𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐧, 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞. 𝐖𝐚𝐡𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐧.
This is a project that brings together so much of what drives Golden Rhino:
Music as its own cosmos, idiosyncratic beauty outside of (scene) templates, and a live performance that is more than just a concert date.
𝐀𝐤'𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐥 work with masks, self-built instruments and projections as if made from cryptic VHS fragments. Underneath lies this 𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑳𝒐-𝑭𝒊-𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒌, which brings together desert, psychedelia and a raw, dented spirituality until something completely unique emerges.
On record, this already seems like a parallel world, live it becomes immediate - no staging, no "theater", but concentrated art in real time that writes itself into the room.
And precisely 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒏 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒕 𝒅𝒂𝒔 𝑯𝒖̈𝒉𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒔𝒐 𝒃𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒈𝒖𝒕. Industrial charm, high ceilings, thick walls, that special patina: a place that doesn't smooth anything out, but throws everything back. Ak'chamel's ritual folk needs a resonating body like this. No feel-good psychedelia, no retro folk - but a clear, darkly luminous undertow that becomes even sharper between brick and concrete.
As suitable support for Ak'Chamel, we were able to win 𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵, who already captivated you at Ancient Echoes II with one of her séance-like performances. For this show, she will join Scott McLean and her live looping to weave tapestries of sound infused with distorted or effects-laden pianos and driven by her enigmatic and deeply moving voice.
Scattered Purgatory (Taipei, Taiwan) open the evening. The duo has been active since 2013 and is one of Taiwan's key experimental acts. Their sound combines traditional Taiwanese motifs with psychedelic and avant-garde structures. Their debut "The Lost Ethnography of the Miscanthus Ocean" (2014, Guruguru Brain) is considered an early key release in their scene. From 2015 to 2019, they played extensively in Europe and North America, including at the New Forms Festival and Le Guess Who? In January 2026, the comeback album "Post Purgatory" was released on Guruguru Brain. In terms of content and sound, it moves more towards digital clarity, downtempo beats and doom riffs, complemented by modern sound design and more granular textures.
It's going to be so incredibly good.
Definitely not to be missed!
