Who actually applauds whom at the end of a play? And how can a performance become a communal experience? As part of the Come Closer Lab, ten artists from Catalonia (ES) and Cologne/NRW are exploring their relationship with the audience together. The aim is to find out how participation arises and how a performance can become a space for collaboration. When does a play become a performance? How much closeness can we tolerate? And: Do we actually have to rehearse differently when the audience is involved?
This research laboratory is part of this year's festival theme Come Closer. The audience is cordially invited to participate. On two afternoons, the lab will open its doors and provide an insight into the ongoing process - open to anyone who is curious and likes to experiment.
