Ciné-Club at KoKi, in collaboration with the Centre Culturel Français Freiburg!

Within 48 hours, Souleymane, a young bicycle courier from Guinea, prepares for his hearing to obtain asylum in Paris. Between the struggle to eat every day and the search for a place to sleep, he has to find the time and strength to come up with a story that could allow him to stay in France. While cycling through the streets of Paris to deliver meals, Souleymane tells his story.

The film was honored with four major awards at the César Awards. Abou Sangaré received the award for best young male actor. His true story has significantly influenced the story of The Story of Souleymane. The screenplay, co-written by Boris Lojkine, who also directed the film, and Delphine Agut, was also honored. Nina Meurisse won the César for Best Supporting Actress. Xavier Sirven was awarded for best editing.

A French-language film once a month at KoKi - presented by the Ciné-Club of the Deutsch-Französisches Gymnasium Freiburg & Centre Culturel Français Freiburg, followed by a discussion.
