Lecture and reading

SIMONE HARRE has been interviewing and creating literary portraits of people for 16 years. She wrote the novel biography "Felix" about the family history of FELIX ROTTBERGER (escape from Nazi Germany).

"Felix" tells the story of the Jewish Rottberger family's escape and odyssey from Nazi Germany (Berlin) via Iceland, Denmark and Sweden and later back on foot from Copenhagen to southern Germany. Readers experience an introspective view into the souls against the backdrop of dramatic events and repeated rescues at literally the last second, such as the largest Jewish rescue operation in history by the Danes in 1943, which hardly anyone knows about.

And why Felix almost became movie material for Steven Spielberg, but he decided to make Schindler's List after all. Felix is the second child of the Rottberger family, the first Jew to be born in Iceland, and his life and later search for identity form the framework of the story. In the end, a tragic odyssey becomes a story of happiness, a novel for peace.

But what happens on both sides when listening, questioning and writing a life? What is the value of opening up in someone else's mirror and reflecting on one's own story? Ask Felix himself... He's always a blast.
