Cirque Bouffon - Célébration - Die Weihnachtsshow

In cooperation with "Kirche für Köln", Cirque Bouffon is presenting its new Christmas spectacle "Célébration" in the church of St. Michael on Brüsseler Platz from December 10, 2025 to January 4, 2026.

An extraordinary event in a sacred location: the impressive neo-Romanesque church of St. Michael will be transformed into a poetic dream world full of light, music and fantasy during this festive season - staged in the unmistakable style of Cirque Bouffon.

The new show "Célébration" reflects the deep symbolism of the Advent season: waiting, hoping, arriving. It builds a bridge between modern circus art and Christian festive tradition - from the quiet expectation of Advent to the festive Christmas and the Epiphany.

Under the direction of Frédéric Zipperlin, together with co-directors Helena Bittencourt and Goos Meeuwsen, a sensual and poetic narrative unfolds, carried by the moving music of composer Sergej Sweschinski.

In the spirit of French Nouveau Cirque, visitors can expect a contemplative and magical experience: international artists, acrobats, musicians, clowns and imaginative mythical creatures tell stories without words - but with a lot of heart - about community, hope, light, joy and the magic of new beginnings.

"Célébration" is a show for everyone who wants to be touched - by beauty, amazement and silence. A heavenly celebration for the whole family - within the sacred walls of St. Michael's, where fantasy meets spirituality and Christmas joy meets sparkling poetry.

¹ On December 24, the Christmas services will take place with the participation of Cirque Bouffon. Admission is free on December 24. There are no regular performances.

² On Christmas Day and Boxing Day (Thursday, 25.12. and Friday, 26.12.) there will be performances at 14:30 and 17:30; there will be no performances on New Year's Day (Thursday, 01.01.2025).
