Claire Dickson

Claire Dickson is a singer, improviser and producer who composes emergent, embodied songs. She sees song as an artistically flexible form of expression that can encompass poetry, opera, philosophy and any other idiom catalyzed by the voice. Her work makes use of microphones, pedals, synthesizers, field recordings, acoustic instruments and draws from the traditions of improvisation, extended vocal techniques, sampling and deep listening. As an improviser, she works in mutual connection with the experimental music scenes in Berlin and New York, as well as in her ongoing collaborative project Myrtle with Camila Ortiz (Otracami) and Lex Korten's Canopy. She has released two albums: Starland (2022) and The Beholder (New Amsterdam Records, 2024).
