Cineciutat is a collectively run alternative cinema in Palma de Mallorca. It shows films exclusively in the original language with subtitles and is sometimes on the verge of closing. Between outdated technology, disagreements in the plenum and love for the cause, the staff try to keep their nerve, joy and energy.

"The history of the cinema is complicated because the technicians are breaking down and it is necessary to pay at least €30,000 for an inspection that is required on the edge of the theater." This is how Google translated the Spanish text for this documentary. To be honest, it captures the tone of the film quite well -- and also the often absurd day-to-day workings of a small movie theater.
